If you need convincing what a change to your life Weight Watchers can be look at Sarah's story of success. Sarah started coming to weight watchers in March 2008 when she was a size 26 and wanted to make a change to her life, she is now a size 12. This is her story.....
Sarah Phillips - Member of Shottery Weight Watchers meeting
"Friends and family have all been really impressed with what I have done and they all say that I should feel really proud of myself - which I do but I also feel that I should never have let myself get to that point on the first place. I can only hope that once I reach my goal I don't get complacent and slip back into old habits. To be honest I think that the whole way I think about food has changed so much, I have been educated so that I should be OK in the future, especially if I still go to the meetings. I have to confess that I have never embraced exercise throughout my weight loss journey Karla is aware of this despite her best efforts. I do climb the stairs now when I can and I do walk more than I used to but I don't do any exercise for the sake of it, maybe I will one day.
The nicest thing that has happened as a result of this weight loss (aside from the smaller waist) is that three people in my office are now trying to lose weight with weight watchers and they say it is because I was their inspiration. It's so kind of them and I only hope that I can be of a little help to them while they try.I know how hard it is and how lucky I was to have the full support of my husband (an ex-chef) to cook, to my new exacting standards. We have both enjoyed trying the recipes and discovering new foods. I can't believe I have never had butternut squash before this diet, what a fantastic food!
Thank you Weight Watchers for being realistic, inventive and supportive in my wight loss, I look forward to receiving my goal keyring.
Oh just one more thing, I measured myself on week 2 of starting and I measured myself on the 10th May 2009. The results are below

That's 40.5 inches gone!
What was the last straw that made you decide to join Weight Watchers?
Right at the end of my pregnancy I was tested for gestational diabetes. I didn't have it but I was right on the border line. Then when my son was born his blood sugar had been affected as a result of my bad blood sugar and it made hime oversized 9lb 5oz. It was my fault just because I chose to eat badly. So when he was 6 weeks old I joined.
What have you discovered about yourself since losing weight?
OMG I have so much will power. At the start I didn't think I have any, but the reality is I have it in spades. Well I am bloody minded I guess and if I put my mind to something it can be done. In the beginning I didn't have a goal because I didn't think I would be able to do it but after I lost the first stone I set my goal and I've never looked back.
What two things did the Discover Plan teach you about losing weight?
Have breakfast, I never did before and now its really one of the most important things to me I don't think I've missed one since I started. I thought I knew which foods were good or not but I was wrong. Well to a degree I was right in what was good but the portion sizes I was very wrong about.
What health benefits have you discovered since losing weight?
I can walk up the stairs and I don't collapse when/if I get to the top. Amazing because I never put this down to my weight before I lost it. My legs don't chaff anymore what a revelation. :-)
How important was attending Weight Watchers meetings to your weight loss?
Critical. I need to have someone watching over my shoulder who is not a friend or related to me - because whatever they had said would "obviously" be wrong (in my mind). The support is great and each meeting is like pressing the re-set button on the week before whether is's been good or bad. I have been almost every week I've been a member and I definitely wouldn't have done it without them. Thanks Karla
In what way has your life changed?
I can buy clothes now which is a double edged sword. I've never had a choice before so I don't know what I'm doing and now people seem to look at me, it's really difficult. And the cost of dropping sizes is crippling (but I manage). I still don't have the confidence to go into some shopes that were always too small for me before but I am working on it.
What would be your top tip to weight loss success?
TRACK, WEIGH YOU PORTION SIZES and be honest it's really only yourself your cheating, No one else is really affected if you have that chocolate bar and then dont track it but you wont get away with all of them, you have to be honest and don't get complacent. I still write everything down and weigh everything.
