The race for life reached Stratford-Upon-Avon on the 20th May. The race, held at the Stratford Racecourse, attracted over 2,000 runners of all ages and abilities united in the aim of raising money and awareness for Cancer Research UK.
Their was an official opening to the ceremonies by Mike Brain the Chairman of Stratford District Council and then the all important pre-run aerobic sessions before the race got underway at 11.00 am. Thankfully the weather stayed bright and warm which kept conditions ideal for the full duration of the race.
Special mention must go to Lisa Chambers a local business woman who organised a team of over 60 runners the largest single team taking part in the event. The teams aim was to raise £10,000 and judging by the turn out I am sure that they will have had every chance.
Congratulations goes to Vicky runner 764 who won the 20007 Stratford-Upon-Avon race for life. A special mention also goes to our very own runner Karla Greasley who did her personal best of 32 Mins and 42 seconds raising over £300 in the process!
The most important thing though is to take part and we would like to say well done to everyone who took part in this years event.
