The Holy Trinity Church was established as a place of worship in the 13th century. It attracts thousands of visitors a year many of who come to see where William Shakespeare was baptised and where he and his family rest in the chancel.
The grounds of the church can be accessed for free and give you the chance to admire the beautiful church and its gardens where you can sit and watch the world go by with a beautiful and tranquil view of the river. Whilst entry to the church is free there is a small charge of £1.50 to see the chancel where Shakespeare and his family rest which helps fund the restoration needed to preserve the church for future generations.
If you are interested in helping further with this you can visit the Friends of Shakespeares Church a registered charity who are commited to this preservation of this great treasure.
