I visited this establishment on a Bank holiday Friday at approx 8pm.
Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our table overlooking the river avon and the theatre.
Service was immediate. All staff wear traditional dress and are extremely polite, friendly and above all else, cheerful.
The menu is authentic Thai and extensive. We choose the set menu A which provided a large platter for starters comprising a selection of tasty treats ranging from spring rolls, to chicken wings, prawns and vegetables served on a fresh bed of salad with two superb alternate dips! The peanut tasting one deserves particular mention!
For main event the set menu provided a real visual treat- basically it looked THAT good I didnt know whether to get my camera out and take a picture or just tuck in without wasting any time on talking! There were 4 seperate dishes comprising Fish, Beef in garlic and blackbean sauce and a simply outstanding Thai Chicken curry which quite frankly was the best I have ever tasted. All accompanied with 2 beautiful dishes of rice!
There was dessert but to be honest we were sitting there like two fat bloaters by the end so thought we would give it a miss! - but again there was something for everyones taste- including chocolate cake and fruit dishes.
All this was washed down with a lovely reasonable bottle of house white (which unlike some restaurants you get to try first- how it should be done!) to finish quite a superb evening.
I had eaten at The Thai Boathouse before. If you value excellent food, a warm welcome and service second to none then this is the restaurant for you. This is one of THE restaurants in Stratford and really does set the standards for the others to follow! Oh one word of cautionn don't forget to book!!
